Vision
The Victorian Ecumenical System of Schools (VESS) exists to support its member schools, valuing their diversity and independence, in a cooperative and cohesive manner within a framework of Christian values and in accordance with its Constitution.
VESS strives to do this by:
- The establishment of effective communication with both the Australian Commonwealth and Victorian State Governments to ensure appropriate system recognition and funding for member schools;
- The maintenance of transparent and democratically agreed upon decision making processes;
- The coordination of funding distribution and accountability requirements;
- Supporting the Christian nature and quality of learning in member schools through a commitment to ecumenical sharing in education and worship;
- Supporting applications for capital funding to the relevant authorities;
- Utilising and sharing professional, educational and financial expertise from both within and outside the System to assist member schools;
- The provision of particular support for new member schools and schools seeking membership;
- The provision of professional development opportunities.
